As you enter the castle gates and make your way along the sweeping drive, you know you have arrived somewhere very special. Set in 1,000 acres of unspoilt parkland, at the heart of the Dorset countryside lies the hidden treasure of Lulworth Castle.

Built in the C17th, this magnificent building is steeped in history. Originally built as a hunting lodge to entertain aristocracy and royalty, it was for centuries the family seat of the Weld family, the current owners of the Lulworth Estate. Ravaged by fire in 1929, it has been partly restored in a pioneering partnership with English Heritage and now provides a stunning backdrop of muted colours, perfect for a wedding celebration.

The Fairytale Castle Built To Entertain Royalty

Built to entertain royalty, this stunning 17th century castle is set in extensive, rolling parkland with sea views and a beautiful church and chapel in the grounds. The castle has played host to many guests through the centuries including seven monarchs and could be the unique venue you are looking for to host your special day.

Whether you’re planning a religious ceremony, civil marriage or a symbolic blessing, the raw textures of this partially-restored castle offer a truly mesmerising backdrop for your unforgettable day. Take your vows within the architectural splendour of the castle, hold a Catholic ceremony in the C18th Chapel (the first Roman Catholic Chapel to be built after the Reformation) or walk down the aisle in the historic C15th St. Andrew’s Church, re-designed by Thomas Hardy in the C18th.

Exclusively yours for the day, the castle can accommodate up to 130 for a sit down meal increasing to 150 for those extra guests to help you celebrate in style and dance the night away.
