Situated on the water’s edge in Mudeford, in a peaceful, secluded location on Dorset’s south coast, is Avon Beach. A beautiful seaside setting that’s home to the newly refurbished Noisy Lobster restaurant.

Family owned for around 80 years, the beach, cafe and shop was taken over by the Hayward family in 2012. Brothers Peter, 30, and Steve, 28, and their father, also Peter, have made a number of changes to the traditional seaside business and strive to modernise the resort to truly take advantage of its idyllic setting with views across Mudeford Bay.

The Hayward family demonstrate great passion and enthusiasm to create a destination that can be fully utilised all year round – serving breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the seasons.

Brothers Peter and Steve grew up in Christchurch; Peter went on to work in London as a banker and ran their family pub - Finns of Ringwood - for two years, which they still own today. Meanwhile, Steve taught English to children in Vietnam.

Boasting a wide skill-set, the Hayward family have created a restaurant that offers family dining and quality fare.

Peter says: “It’s been great the way we’ve been received, trade has been going really well. We have great staff and a wonderful front of house team. Head chef Steve Hall deals with local butchers and fishermen on a daily basis – they’ll show us what they’ve caught each day and we take our pick.”

Having undergone major expansion and refurbishment plans in recent months, The Noisy Lobster restaurant is now a prominent venue for diners and an iconic hub for the local community. Their mission was to transform the eatery from a beach cafe into an internationally renowned restaurant – The Noisy Lobster – and they have done just that. With a stunning backdrop and views over the bay at Mudeford, the restaurant really needs no gimmicks.

The restaurant, led by head chef Steve Hall, now has a brigade of skilled chefs who create mouth-watering dishes. Taking full advantage of its location, The Noisy Lobster promotes local, fresh seafood throughout its menu with daily specials. Fish, wherever possible, is sourced locally from Mudeford, Christchurch and Poole bay, with daily catches from local fishermen bringing the very best produce to the table.

Peter explains: “Our aim is to take the evening menu to a new level, focusing on fine dining, a high level of service and seasonal food - all quality, fresh, homemade food. It's food to match the view. We’ve made the most of the fantastic views and the restaurant is a relaxing place that’s family friendly. On a Sunday the kitchen serves over 300 breakfasts, they’re very popular too.”

With the renovation work now complete, The Noisy Lobster is a stylish, welcoming restaurant with a brand new bar serving a plethora of cocktails and beverages.

The Noisy Lobster is also available for private functions, wedding receptions and parties. Christmas packages and a New Year’s Eve five-course meal with live music are available for booking. Live music is held every Thursday promoting local bands (booking is advised).

Peter adds: “I’d like to thank everyone for their support and the hard working team who have helped us to get to where we’ve got over the past few years. It’s been hard work but definitely worth it, it’s been great fun. Watch this space for more to come.”
