What is Gertrude’s terrible secret? This question and more are answered in this frequently hilarious yet unnerving show - Lighthouse, Poole

An Audience with Charles Dickens (March 12)

Starring Gerald Dickens, the great man’s great, great grandson! Regent Centre, Christchurch.

Exbury Gardens open (March 13) The Exbury year starts with a fabulous showing of the rare and delicate leopard lilies (South African lacenalias) in the Gardens’ Five Arrows gallery and a stunning display of daffodils in the meadow that slopes down to the Beaulieu River. Camellias, magnolias and primroses complete the early displays. Open daily 10am-5.30pm.

Candlelight: Verdi’s Otello (March 14) Shakespeare's tragedy is taken to operatic proportions in Verdi's Otello. Join Candlelight Opera on this intense and emotional journey where jealousy and suspicion lead to betrayal and murder. This intimately-staged pro The Regent Centre, Christchurch.

Lee Mack: Going Out tour (March 14) The critically acclaimed BAFTA-winning comedian returns to the live stage with a new show. Mack will be bringing his trademark brand of high energy banter, well crafted gags and sharp one-liners to venues across the country on his biggest ever live stand-up tour. Pavilion, Bournemouth.

English Touring Opera (March 26-27) Don Pasquale, Donizetti and The Marriage of Figaro, Mozart. Two of the wittiest works of the repertoire taken from the 18th and 19th Centuries. These very different operas – both describing the events of one day – find comedy in stifling Sevillian manor houses and in dusty bachelors’ quarters - Lighthouse, Poole.

Julie Felix (March 29) Californian 1960s folk icon Julie Felix still receives serious enthusiasm from her audience for both her 1960s and more recent material - Lighthouse, Poole.
